June 25th, 2008 Hey folks, July is going to be insane. I’ve been slowly gathering up all the events and ideas in order to make one monster of a summer update and at last the time has come. FIRST, thank you to those of you who came out to out spring east coast tour. We had a wonderful time, saw some old friends and made some new ones. Hopefully, we’ll do it again soon. Second, we are playing a large amount of excellent shows next month including not one, not two, but THREE Texas dates on the Unlimited Enthusiasm Expo a.k.a the tour of the summer featuring Harry and the Potters, Uncle Monsterface, Math the Band and (sometimes) Jason Anderson. THEN immediately getting back from Austin, we are hopping on a plane to play a special show (and an acoustic afternoon performance) in Seattle at the Sunset Tavern with Boat, and Tullycraft! Then as soon as I get back from that trip I am playing a one of a kind Fishboy show with Tilly and the Wall in Dallas…which brings us to our third update… I am going into the Echolab tomorrow to track the basics for a project unlike anything Fishboy has attempted before. When writing our last album, Albatross, the majority was conceived linearly. After I would finish one song I would try to steer the story and album flow at the same time with the next. Often, I would complete a song and the lyrics would take the story into a dead end or I would love the lyrics but the feel of the song wouldn’t be right for the flow of the album. What resulted was a group of perfectly good mostly finished scrapped songs, some that offer an alternate storyline to the Albatross rock opera… and while I love these songs I’ve grown too found of writing linearly and can’t image any of them fitting into the next proper album… which brings us to tomorrow. I’ve made an agreement with two friends of mine: Mark Sonnabaum (producer of Little D) and Howard Draper (ex-Shearwater/Okkerville River/Little Grizzly.) I have handed the demos of these songs over to them with the intention of letting them arrange, produce and perform (or find others to perform) all of the backing tracks without me hearing or knowing about anything until it’s mixed and in the can. What will the end result sound like? No idea! Maybe I’ll scrap the whole thing and deem it unlistenable, maybe it will be so good I’ll press five thousand copies, maybe it will be“just ok” and I’ll post them all for free downloads. Either way, we are going to perform our one and only show at the Granada Theater in Dallas on July 16. Who will be in the final live line up? No clue! We do have a name for the project: The Om Nom Noms. Named after the noise you make while eating up some one else’s song and spitting out something new. My fingers are crossed that it will be as fun to listen to, as it is to make. At the end of the summer we are capping off all this madness with a free solo show with the Poison Control Center and The Mathletes in Denton! Then August comes and its time for popfest! Hooray for summertime!
-Fishboy April 5th , 2008 Well Folks, We are headed out to the east coast at the end of the month to bring the joy of Albatross to the people who have been patiently waiting for it. If you live in one of these cities come out and say hi. Also, look for many an update at the Fishblog.

March 10th , 2008 hey everyone, A lot of big news around the Fishboy camp. First we have a beautiful new music video directed by Eliza Kinks and animated by Eliza Kinks and Evelyn Hwang of prettypinkprincesshour.com for the song Parachute (Using Buddy Holly's Ghost As A) and its pretty much a dream come true to have my art turned into a cartoon. So there you have it. It's over on youtube here. Second we are playing three awesome shows at sxsw this week; The first is on Wednesday from 12-6 (we're on around 4:30) at Lovejoys heres some info: the second is our official showcase on Thursday night at the Habbanna Annex. it looks like this: and then on Friday some of my friends are throwing a big house party and having friends from all over the country play. We're calling it Weekend at Bernies 3: its a 1024 east 44th street and goes from 12-6 (we play around 2pm) and features all these bands:
Also, we are doing an east coast tour in late April early May, right now the dates are kind of spotty since we are booking it ourselves after hours and know very little people on the east coast, but hey, thats what makes it fun! What we have will be posted soon, but if you or anyone you know can give us any help that would be greatly appreciated. Thats it folks! hope to see you this week in some form or fashion, Fishboy

Check them out and let us know what you think and please spread the word. We are really excited about the new album. It's a rock opera about how myself, the band and the ghost of Buddy Holly attempt to save Texas by going on a tour/crime spree in order to perform all 8030 of the songs I've written in my sleep since I was in the womb. It's appropriately titled: Albatross: How We Failed To Save The Lone Star State With The Power Of Rock And Roll On July 14th we will be pulling out all the stops for an epic battle or good vs. evil at Rubber Gloves when Fishboy vs. The Undoing of David Wright! March 19th , 2007 Hey Friends! Tomorrow we are going into the studio to start recording our next full length album. We're proud to announce that this new group of songs will be the final realization of the yet to be titled rock opera we've been constructing for about a year now. Matt Pence over at the Echolab in Argyle will be acting as producer and it's an understatement to say that we're excited. Look for blog updates on the recording process. Sunday March 25th will be our last show before going into hiding for a while. It will be a nice intimate show at the Barley House in Dallas with our friend Ryan Anderson and it's going to be part of a series of showcases that Josh and the Adverture Club will be putting on right after his radio show on Sunday Nights. Come out and be one of the first to hear the rock opera in its entirety. see you soon! -fishboy March 1st , 2007 The wonderful month of March has come at last and with it some great shows. January 1st, 2007 Happy New Year! 2007 looks like it’s going to be very rad. We are looking forward to putting out our new album and playing all the new songs for every one. Soon we will also have an extensive video page as well as blog we'll be using on tour as well as to showcase our other projects, the projects of our friends and pretty much anything we like and think you should like too. The two tracks we've finished for compilations should be out and online in some sort of fashion soon. The first is a song I did with help from Mark Sonnabaum on Guitarron that will be the first track on a compilation to help benefit the campaign of Zac Crain, the former Dallas Observer music editor who will be running for mayor this year. For all the trivia buffs, Crain gave us our first piece of press ever, so we are proud to help him out with this project. The song (appropriately title 'The Ballad of Zac Crain') will be next to other rare tracks by Centro-Matic, Ben Kweller, John Duffolo and Robert Schnider, Tim Delaughter and a whole whole lot of other great north Texas bands and musicians. The other comp track we just wrapped up mixing is a full band version of everyone’s live favorite 'Louis the Bear.' It features our ex tuba player High-C and is just plain awesome. It's going to be on the Happy Happy Birthday to Me Vol. III, which should be out in the next few months.
November 21st, 2006 Here are some bits of news for everyone: we have been working hard on a couple different compilations that will be announced very soon. I won’t say much now except that we are very excited about sharing a space with the bands on all three. Other than that I’ve been locked up constructing a rock opera for our next album (more on this later.) The holiday season will feature a couple of great shows including November 30th with Dressy Bessy in Denton, December 1st in Dallas at the legendary Longhorn Ballroom for the Art Conspiracy II benefit, and December 15th Christmas show in Denton. -Fishboy October 10th , 2006 We are doing some late October out of state shows and one Denton show that should be very rad. It involves us opening for a band comprised of evil mechanical robots who have enslaved a human to be their lead singer. Also on the bill are the the Pomonas from Lawrence, KS who we'll be playing with in their home town on October 20th. Then on the 21st as we make our way home we'll be playing an instore at the wonderful Happy Narwhal Records in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Aside from playing shows we'll be recording some songs for a couple of cool compilations coming out very soon as well as continue writing for the next full legnth. Oh, hey! we also got a new bass player!
We are heading down to Austin this weekend to play with
our personal lone star heros Spoon.
(we're very excited) We'd love to see all of our Austin folks there
so come out and say hi. Then on Thursday October 5th I will be playing
a special solo show in Denton with one man show stopper Jason
Anderson. Along for the ride will be my extour compadre and HHBTM Austinite Ryan
Anderson as well as local good two shoes known as Tha
Bracelets. This is going to be a very cool intimate show that I
highly reccomend. If you've seen Jason before, you know how special
it is when he comes to town. Don't miss it! Contacts:

This Saturday, Winston and I will be playing at recycled books in Denton
at 2 pm for their big 20th anniversary. It's a wonderful used
book/record store on 200 N. Locust St. in Denton. There's going to be
a huge sale and tons of extra goodness that day. plus ITS FREE! August 17, 2003 The cd release show, and your first chance to catch the new line up, has been scheduled for Friday August 22nd at the fine establishment of Rubber Gloves. The wonderful Cordelane and Cavedweller are the opening acts.So today Sweatpants and I recorded an acoustic session for Josh and the Adventure Club on 102.1 the Edge. year of snags and now ZipBangBoom will finally be here in August. I
am extremely proud of this group of songs and feel it's the best recording
I've done so far. That's the modest way of saying that its going to
blow you away, the people who haven't had it in your cd players for
a year, away. There are some shows arriving, but none are official yet,
so keep your eyes peeled. Not literally.-fishboy June 13th, 2003 The name "Fishboy" now serves a duel purpose. Not only is it the nickname of a solo artist, but now it holds the meaning of a full rock group (which has changed roster, but we'll get to that later.)The website has somewhat been made over for the release of ZIPBANGBOOM on Business Deal Entertainment next month. The eager can already order it over at BusinessDealEntertainment.com. Some solo SHOWS are planned for the next couple of weeks as well as a special in store for you Austin folks with the incredible Telephone Company!!-fishboy May 3rd, 2003 ZipBangBoom is going to press this week! More info to come on that subject...but first there is a show on May 18th (the day after my birthday) at the Gypsy Tea Room. I will be playing solo opening for Mr. Adam Green of Moldy Peaches fame. If you haven't heard this guy, what can I say, he rules. If I owned a seal of approval, I would stamp everything he touched. I put up a press section today, so that you can look at what nice publications say about me. Thanks for being nice, nice publications. March 04, 2003 Ice
Storms. Look at the new comics and stay tuned. -fishboy
